Course Aims
Delegates will be able to setup and troubleshoot a TCP/IP network in a mixed
operating system environment. Delegates will also be able to use a Network analyser
to decode TCP/IP protocol frames, understand the fields, and be able to state
whether they are correctly formatted.

Course Prerequisites
Delegates attending this course should have a good understanding of the DOS,
UNIX, Windows NT and Windows 95 operating systems as well as general networking
knowledge.

Course Objectives
After this course delegates will be able to:-

Describe the TCP/IP addressing scheme and for a given network, be able to select
an appropriate Network address and subnet mask

common TCP/IP Utility programs to troubleshoot TCP/IP

Use a protocol analyser to decode various protocols and state whether the format
adheres to the standard

Troubleshoot a network with duplicate IP addresses and duplicate hardware
addresses

Troubleshoot the common TCP/IP application programs

Troubleshoot a network using the RIP protocol, and list the most common routing
problems

Install and use SNMP to aid in troubleshooting routing problems.
Setup and troubleshoot NFS, PCNFS and DNS

Install and set-up dynamic DNS using DHCP, WINS and DNS

List common TCP/IP printing problems.
