Who should attend this course? This course provides a good background to the Unix or Linux operating systems. The course is designed for beginners or as a refresher course and assumes little or no previous knowledge. The course includes lots of practical exercises and plenty of help is available on the course.  Duration 2 days Course Prerequisites The course is designed for delegates with little or no knowledge of the Linux or UNIX operating systems. Understanding another command line operating system would be an advantage but is not necessary.	Course Objectives On completing this course delegates will be able to:- Use the basic Linux command set to list copy and move files Describe the Linux file system structure Copy and remove LINUX files interactively and recursively  Use the find command to define and instigate a search Use commands with wildcards and re-direction to standard input and output Use manual pages to get information on UNIX command syntax Use the KDE graphical desktop to run utility programs Use the vi text editor to create and edit text files Describe the Linux file permissions and be able to set permissions on files and directories Add users and groups and manage user passwords Navigate the Linux file system using relative and absolute paths Use, control and kill foreground and background Linux processes Schedule and control Linux processes using cron and at State what Linux device files are and work with devices Control Linux print queues and submit print requests using CUPS Use the .bash file to customise the user interface.
